Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh, who is basking in the success of two successive hits – Humshakals and Ek Villain has replaced comedian Kapil Sharma in Yash Raj Film’s ‘Bank Chor, according to reports.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Kapil Sharma, who was all set to make his Bollywood debut with thriller-comedy had opted out of the project.
Yash Raj Films and Kapil Sharma decided to drop the plan and part ways mutually. YRF management team head issued a statement saying: “We will look forward to working together in future when the time is right.”
According to sources, Kapil Sharma had to opt out of the big banner film as he was unable to juggle between his show ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ and the film. Kapil Sharma chose the show instead of the film since the channel was unwilling to accommodate the dates.
Meanwhile, the film’s leading lady has not been finalized. There were reports that actress Nargis Fakhri had refused to be a part of the project since it starred Kapil Sharma in the lead role.
Bank-Chor’ is a story about 3 people trying to rob a bank who pick the worst day possible when everything that can go wrong. The story unfolds when they are inadvertently caught in the crossfire of cops, industrialists and corrupt politicians. The film will be directed by Bumpy and produced by Ashish Patil.
