Despite getting flak from the critics, Ranbir Kapoor’s experimental action-comedy Besharam seems to have fared well at home and abroad on the first day of its opening on Gandhi Jayanti

Early estimates suggest that the movie collected over Rs. 20 crore at the ticket windows on Wednesday.

Abhinav Kashyap’s second directorial venture did decent business overseas as well.

Besharam’s collections, which also stars Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Pallavi Sharda, averaged at NZ$6,537 ( Rs. 3.36 lakhs) for New Zealand and £58,494 ( Rs. 58.80 lakhs) for the UK. It earned A$14,646 (Rs 8.51 lakhs) in Australia.
