Kajol who was last seen in Karan Johar’s “My Name Is Khan” and “We Are Family” both released in 2010, will reportedly make a comeback in a woman-oriented film produced by her husband Ajay Devgn.
The makers of the film are expecting to roll the camera from October this year. However, details of the project have not yet been revealed.
“Kajol will be doing a film this year. It will hopefully go on floors from October end. It will be produced by me and directed by (ad film-maker) Ram Madhvani,” Devgn told.
“We cannot reveal the subject. It is a woman-centric film. We are looking for a hero. I would only be producing the film… I won’t be part of it.” the “Singham Returns” actor told when asked about the film.
“Ram, with over 20 years of experience, hasn’t just directed several award-winning commercials in India, he has worked with Bollywood stars too. He directed a documentary titled, Everlasting Light, with Amitabh Bachchan, the Bheja Kum song for Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par and the official theme song video for Aamir’s TV series Satyamev Jayate (2012),” report.
Initially, Madhvani approached Aamir’s production house with the script, but due to some reason the script rolled over to Devgn, who immediately decided to produce the film for Kajol. The film is based on a mature love story for which the “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” has lost weight, report.
While husband Devgn has been in the silver screen delivering blockbuster movies, wife Kajol, who quit at the peak of her career, has acted in a few films post her marriage.
Though her last film with Devgn, “U, Me Aur Hum” (2008), failed to create magic at the box office, Kajol’s fans would wish her recreate the magic once again on screen with her comeback movie.
In 2012, actress Sridevi had made a comeback in Gauri Shinde’s “English Vinglish”, which was also a woman-centric film and became a superhit.
Meanwhile, cousin Rani Mukerji will soon be seen in a woman-oriented film titled “Mardaani”, which is set to release on 22 August 2014.
