Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman has said she is “not okay” about her life story being portrayed in a biopic.
The 76-year-old has starred in classic films such as Solva Saal, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Bees Saal Baad and Pyaasa.
According to her, “I am [over] 75. Now it’s a long journey, it has to be made in four parts. But personally, I am not okay with it. I am not fine with it and there is no reason [for it] as such.”
While the acclaimed actress has starred in contemporary films such as Rang De Basanti and Delhi-6, she explained she is happy to be retired.
“How much to work? We should give a chance to others as well. I don’t miss anything. I am happy with myself. I travel a lot, read a lot, meet my friends, like to cook occasionally. I am satisfied with my life.”
In an interview, the actress said she is proud of the far-reaching influence of Hindi cinema around the world.
The legendary actress recently unveiled Nasreen Munni Kabir’s book Conversations with Waheeda Rehman, which comprises of an extended interview exploring aspects of her life and career.
