After the Imran Khan-Kareena Kapoor rom-com ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’, director Shakun Batra is gearing up for his next with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
Revealed a source, “Shakun has had several script narrations with Karan and they’ve finally locked the script. Karan is really impressed and they intend to finalise the cast soon.” According to the source it is a story of a dysfunctional family and revolves around two brothers; both are writers by profession and residents of a pristine hill station.
Added the source, “They want to cast Farhan Akhtar and Imran Khan as the brothers but they haven’t been officially approached yet. Karan has asked everyone involved with the project to keep things under wraps as he is planning to make a big announcement soon.”
The actors and the director go back a long way. Shakun started his career as an assistant director on Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Imran’s debut film and had also appeared in the popular song Pappu Can’t Dance Saala as Pappu. Shakun’s second stint on the silver screen came with Don where he was the assistant director to Farhan and also stood in for an extra in the number Khaike Paan Banaras Wala.
